The speaker at the event will be Maria Testa. The author of the children’s book “Something about America,” Testa has explored immigration in contemporary America. Anchored in Portland, Maine which is a major “refugee city” of the United States, Testa is involved in various programs to bring ethnic groups together. She will talk about the challenges and obstacles that come from trying to bond diverse cultures. Indian Business and Professional Women will also have a panel discussion on “The Book of Unknown Americans,” by Christina Henriquez.
