Oliphant’s images capture the lively street scenes and landmark structures of London. She has been taking photographs for many years, starting with a Brownie camera at the age of 10, then working with film SLR cameras and now using a Nikon D300. She recently visited Cuba and was co-curator of the 2011 “Cuba in Focus” exhibition at Foothill College. She also traveled to Japan in 2011. Her aerial photo of the volcanoes on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, taken on a flight from San Francisco to Narita, Japan, won honorable mention in the Photography Masters Cup competition, which drew more than 11,000 entries from 83 countries.
